Therapy For Teens
Online & In-person
The teenage years can be tough: for them and for you.
Adolescents have unique challenges and needs during these formative years. They are changing both physically and emotionally. The goal of working with adolescents is to provide a safe and empathic space for teens to navigate these transformative experiences, and where they can explore their emotions, build coping skills, develop and maintain healthier relationships, and develop a greater understanding of themselves.
Hey there, teens and parents! Navigating the teenage years can be a rollercoaster of emotions, and sometimes it feels like the ride is going a bit too fast. Are you, as a teen, experiencing overwhelming anxiety or feelings of sadness? Or as a parent, are you witnessing your teen grappling with challenges in emotions, family relationships, friendships, dating, or their sense of identity?
Parents, we understand that witnessing your teen navigate these challenges can be tough. Parents want to help their kids and it can be hard to go from being able to kiss their boo-boo when they fall off their bike to feeling at a complete loss how to support their teen’s mental health. Teen counseling is not just for the teens; it's a resource for you too. Together, we can bridge the communication gap, address concerns, and work towards fostering a healthier and more understanding relationship within the family.
Whether it's anxiety, depression, friendship dramas, or questions about identity, teen counseling is here to offer support, guidance, and a listening ear. Give us a call or text to start this journey of self-discovery and growth together – because every teen deserves a space to thrive.
We’re here to support your teen as they grow into new phases of life.

Common questions about therapy for teens
-
Through counseling, we aim to guide teenagers on a journey of self-discovery, resilience, and personal development. Our goal is to empower teens to navigate the challenges of adolescence and emerge stronger, more self-aware, increase self-worth, and better equipped for the journey ahead. You and your teen will also identify at the first appointment specific goals that they would like to address with their time in counseling.

It’s important to know that there is a balance between respecting the adolescent’s privacy and ensuring the caregivers are aware of any essential information, such as safety concerns. It is imperative that your teen feels like they can have a safe space to share without fear that their parents are going to know everything they are talking about. Remember when you were a teen and didn’t want your parents to know anything!
There will still be a collaborative approach, since a family is a system and it’s important to work with the entire system to be able to see a change; however, information shared (outside of safety concerns) will be guided by your teen. It will be the goal to help give your teen the skills they need to be able to communicate with their support systems, since as therapists, it is our end goal to work ourselves out of a job and you as their caregivers will continue to be their support throughout their lives.
